The CNA will interact directly with patients, providing therapeutic support, comfort and transportation within the facility, monitoring patient vital signs and assisting with daily living needs. The CNA shall be a dedicated, compassionate and energetic individual who will serve the significant role of identifying and communicating patient needs and addressing them directly or in conjunction with nursing and other facility clinical staff.
Reports to: Director of Nursing
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
+ Assist with daily living activities. This includes delivering meals to patients, turning and ambulating patients and providing plenty of fresh water, as well as extra nourishment between meals
+ Help patients with personal hygiene. Provide patients with bedpans, help with baths, shampoos and showers
+ Offers therapeutic support to patients, responding to concerns and encouraging their continued work in accomplishing recovery.
+ Provide adjunct care for the patient, including ice packs, non-sterile dressings and therapeutic baths
+ Check vital signs and record daily information in the patient's chart
+ Assist the nurses and other staff as needed
+ Adhere to professional standards, follow policies and procedures and abide by federal, state and local requirements, as well as Joint Commission standard
+ Complete Hourly Checks for patients
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS & ABILITIES
+ High School diploma or GED
+ Completion of a state-approved CNA certification training course
+ Basic computer skills
+ Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effectively
+ Good communication skills, including the ability to communicate sensitive information with empathy ("bedside manner")
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober.

+ Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
