Ameresco Inc., has a new opportunity for an Operations and Maintenance Technician to operate plant equipment and provide safe and reliable maintenance and repair services at Bradley Energy Center and CJTS Energy Center in Connecticut, in accordance with supervisory direction, industry standards, plant documents, and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform daily equipment rounds; record operating parameters and compare to acceptable values; input the data into a computer database;

Maintain logs to include important plant issues, plant transients, and observations of off-normal equipment operation;

Review HMI/SCADA displays for proper system operation and make equipment adjustments, as necessary; recognize out-of-tolerance parameters and identify system problems;

Weekly swapping of lead/lag equipment; stopping and starting equipment for tests or maintenance; transient and alarm response;

Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on plant equipment; equipment lubrication; test and adjust equipment, as necessary; perform routine overhauls;

Repair/replace failed or degraded equipment; provide physical access to equipment;

Using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), initiate new work orders; close out completed work orders; regenerate scheduled PM work orders; scan and attach documents pertinent to the work order;

Create Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) documents and perform physical tagging; understand the system and tagging boundary; understand Energy Control Procedures (ECP) for mechanical/electrical energy and how to assure equipment is safe to work on; create confined space entry documentation;

Create and conduct pre-job task and pre-job safety briefs for internal use and for sub-contractors;

Order supplies and routine vendor services; maintain adequate inventories of parts and supplies;

Maintain plant cleanliness;

Support contractors, as required; and

Perform other duties, as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma.

5 years of experience in a multi-skilled industrial or utility environment. Experience should include the operation and maintenance of reciprocating engines, boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, electrical switchgear, and other types of machines.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Strong verbal, written, technical language and computer communication skills.

Valid driver’s license issued by state of residence and in good standing.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and transport equipment and tools in excess of 300 lbs.

Ability to work on a flexible schedule and provide on-call response.

Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practice, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and Ameresco standards.

Some limited in-state travel may be required.
