SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Sales - The National Account Manager is responsible for the management of current programs and the development and cultivating new programs at major Home Centers and Mass Merchants in the US and Canada. The goals are to expand revenue while creating profitable programs for the accounts and AmerTac. Being detailed and coordinated in sales management, while keeping ahead of business and product trends, taking advantage of shelf space opportunities and working with our clients to develop winning programs is critical. This high-energy person must be a strategic thinker; a team player who will coordinate and lead to success.
Develops sales opportunities with new and existing departments in the assigned accounts:
Advances and executes strategic sales plans, incorporating ongoing marketing programs to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability, and market share.
Creates and maintains category pricing, taking into account AmerTac’s requirements as well as market needs.
Performs an active role in forecasting activities and weekly sales updates.
Works with internal resources to ensure maximum customer performance (marketing, finance, logistics, customer service, etc)
Plans and prioritizes workload to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
Communicates portfolio changes in a timely manner with customers.
Provides post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on sales opportunities.
Devotes substantial time in stores and/or on Merchant Walks.
Helps establish and maintain consistent corporate image throughout the sales process.
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree (REQUIRED) in business or job-related field from a four-year college or university. An MBA is a plus.
5-8 years of outside sales management experience working in the Hardware, Home Center, Mass Merchandiser Retail and Distributor Channel.
Tactical experience with SKU and POS analysis; P & L management and competitive analysis
Results-driven with “Customer First” principles to help build relationships along with market share
Demonstrated experience identifying and communicating market needs that are critical to success – ability to conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and define a clear winning sales strategy while working in a team environment
Experience managing Independent Sales Agents
Manages conflict and is an effective problem solver
Manages effectively in ambiguous situations
Proven project management skills

High degree of technical competence and ability to learn product detail and specifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.
Position is full time in our Brookfield WI Office.
Ability to travel up to 35% of the time. Travel will be in North America on customer sales calls, trade shows and distributor shows.
