This position is responsible for providing medical services directly to the clients in the program. This includes prescribing medication as needed, maintaining the appropriate records per state & federal regulations, ensuring that established procedures are followed, and that the highest clinical standards are met. Creativity and innovation are necessary to assist our clients to be successfully engaged, motivated and supported in their efforts to achieve treatment plan objectives. Collaboration and coordination with both internal and external resources are crucial to successful client outcomes.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
v Conducts physicals on all clients in the program and orders all laboratory tests as needed.
v Collaborates with staff to evaluate ongoing medication needs of the clients
v Advises the client about prescribed medications
v Documents all physical findings and notes on progress in the clients’ file
v Monitors patient response to treatment and medication dosage
v Always maintain HIPPA compliance and privacy
v Demonstrates respect and non-judgmental attitudes toward clients in all contacts with agency and community professionals and other agencies
v Exchanges relevant information with the agency or professional to whom a referral is being made in a manner consistent with confidentiality rules and regulations and generally accepted professional standards of care.
v Ensures that all reports and/or documents requested by management are accurate and timely
v Enforcement of policies as it relates to the needs of the clients
v Anticipates the needs of the clients and the program in order to ensure effective programming
v May participate in the Continuing Quality Improvement Program
v Adheres to the professional code of ethics of the agency and the Medical Board
v Demonstrates awareness of and competency in cultural diversity
v Develops personal & professional goals developed in conjunction with supervisor to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of programming.
· Completion of a graduate medical program
· Ohio Medical license
· ASAM Certification (preferred)
· Experience working with Substance use disorder and/or mental health clients preferred
