The General Clerk III will be involved in making contact with individuals who are recipients of National Security Education Program (NSEP) funding to study critical foreign languages/cultures. Currently, there is a backlog of award recipients who have not yet reported progress in completing their service obligation. NB: Undergraduate scholars have three-years to fulfill their service post college graduation. Graduate students have two-years to fulfill their service.
The General Clerk III shall identify award recipients who have not begun fulfilling their Congressionally-mandated Service Requirement; track correspondence; contact award recipients via multiple venues, including in-person, over the phone, through mail, email, and other publicly-available methods, as necessary; and prepare and send hard-copy Service Requirement notification letters to backlogged awardees.
