Alston & Bird is searching for a Applications Specialist to work with our Practice Innovation team in our Atlanta office. Under the direction of supervisor, the Applications Specialist performs duties as related to application administration for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other firm applications. In addition, the Application SPecialist will manage the implementation of upgrades and new applications to the production environment for business applications.
+ Duties include management of the SCCM environment, including management of imaging, application packaging and deployment.
+ Also responsible for disaster recovery documentation and testing.
+ Also includes management of other business-related applications.
+ Assist the Application Support team in proving timely, accurate resolutions for any issues in a courteous, professional manner.
+ Provide after-hours technical support and coverage when needed.
+ Lead implementations, upgrades and support of firm wide applications. Also includes security vulnerability management for both applications and servers.
+ Create test plans and testing of applications.
+ Manage and lead projects from identifying requirements to rollout.
+ Participate in the management of the SCCM environment.
+ Create firm images for multiple workstation types.
+ Create software installation packages for deployment to workstations.
+ Proactively research new technologies and advise on their use.
+ Assist with the development of training curriculum and documentation for new applications.
+ Work with other IT teams to troubleshoot and build application infrastructure.
+ Integrate applications with third party tools when needed.
+ Lead the rollout of third-party tools.
+ Resolve support issues.
+ Prepare technical documentation for applications assigned.
+ Technical learning and development of other team members as needed.
+ Attend meetings with users and colleagues as required.
+ Review publications and attend seminars, conferences as assigned and relating to technologies used in by Alston & Bird.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Must have strong problem-solving skills, as well as expertise in scripting languages such as Microsoft PowerShell.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft server technologies, such as operating systems, DNS, etc. Working knowledge of load balancing and networking technologies a plus.
+ Must have knowledge of SCCM or similar software distribution platforms as well as other Microsoft technologies.
+ Knowledge of legal industry software applications a plus.
+ Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Must have the ability to work independently.
+ Strong attention to detail is essential as well as a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and be able to multitask.
+ Must have proven leadership ability.
+ Must possess specific technical skills required for the project that exceed the abilities of the rest of the development team.
+ Must have at least 3 or more years of solid professional experience in application support.
+ Four-year degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Computer Science, Computer engineering or related technical area, preferred, but not required.
+ Equivalent work experience/education will be taken into consideration.
