Job Title:

Systems Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, administration, support, and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware.
  • Responsibilities may include management of systems infrastructures, implementing best practices to Identify and recommend system functional specifications, configuration of physical and virtual systems, backup, and recovery of IT infrastructure.
  • Impact: Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. Typically, responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower technical staff
  • Complexity: Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
  • Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge
  • Communicates with internal and client project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
  • Leadership & Talent Management: Knowledge: Requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas
  • Accountable patching, imaging, application develop, and as required architect and design using the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) or currently known as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)
  • Leverage SCCM to provide security updates, cumulative rollups, hotfixes, and other updates as necessary to workstations and servers
  • Create and administer advertisements, programs, collections, and custom reports utilizing SCCM and or Tanium.
  • Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments and SCCM health issues.
  • Troubleshoot unhealthy SCCM clients.
  • Leverage Group Policy and Active directory to modify installation package behavior, restrict features, and improve security.
  • Utilize and configure applications via AppV virtualization technology
  • Create and administer advertisements, programs, collections, and custom reports utilizing SCCM and or Tanium.

Minimum Requirements:

  • This position requires an active DOD Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree with at least a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience (Master's Degree with a minimum of 7 + years or PhD with a minimum of 4+ years of experience) or a minimum of 12+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Security + / IAT II
  • Relevant Computing Environment Certificate (i.e., MS SCCM, MS Server Fundamentals, MCSA Windows Server 2016, VMWare VCP or VCA)
  • ITIL v3 / ITIL v2 knowledge
  • Good understanding of current and emerging technologies and service management concepts and techniques
  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven track record in developing and implementing innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Prior experience working in a multi-tenant environment
  • Ability to create scripts in PowerShell
  • Minimum of three years of relevant IT work experience. Understanding of technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, DFS and the ability to maintain other Windows core services
  • Experience installing/configuring software and hardware
