Immediate Opening for a full-time Medical Assistant in a growing Pain Management/Addiction Medical Practice. This environment requires an individual to organize multiple tasks, support our providers and be able to guide our patients through the clinic with excellent care and consideration.
A Medical Assistant must have experience in the following areas:
Assist with patient registration and check-in.
~ Obtain extended vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, temperature, smoking status, allergies, mental health screening)
~ Verify laboratory and pharmacy information.
~ For patient encounters: Reconcile medication list, obtain presenting complaint.
~ Assist with injections and minor procedures.
~ Obtain EKG's
~ Processing Referrals & Prior Authorizations
~ Assist Medical providers in other clerical duties in the care and treatment of patients
~ Input all documentation in EMR system (Athenahealth)
~ Answering and responding to patient phone calls
~ Check, Clean and stock rooms
Characteristics of a successful MA:
~ Patient oriented
~ Accountable for actions
~ Detailed oriented
~ Organized with the ability to follow up on various tasks.
~ Team oriented and an ability to get along with various personalities
~ Effective communicator
~ Able to take direction
~ Completion of certified Medical Assistant Program.
~ Would prefer at least 1 year experience, but will train the right candidate
~ Experience working in a multi provider medical practice setting.
~ Applicants with experience in the specialty fields of urology or pain management are preferred but will consider applicants with excellent skills
