Responsibilities

+ Supports the surgical team by providing them with sterile supplies, assembled case carts, clean and sterile instruments
+ Back up for transport of patients and a cleaning of surgical unit
+ Decontamination: cleans soiled instruments, utensils and other medical devices
+ Instrumentation: picks, resetsand prepares instruments for sterilization
+ Case cart and supplies: pick and deliver case carts, put away supplies
+ Customer service and phone support for operating rooms: must take calls

Education
+ High school Diploma or GED required

Qualification/Skills
Experience
+ Required at least one year
Skills
+ Customer service
+ Strong computer skills
+ Good physical and manual dexterity in a physically demanding job
+ Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, including over the telephone
+ Good medical terminology and ability to learn a large number of new terms
+ Ability to operate specialized equipment
Certification/Licensure
+ Certification for Sterile Processing and Distribution /Instrument Distribution preferred, or completed a Sterile Processing curriculum and able to obtain certification within 24 months of hire date
+ Surgical Technician or equivalent acceptable or have one year experience in sterile processing or instrumentation

Work Schedule
+ 40 hours a week
+ Eve/Night rotation
+ Every 3rd weekend
+ SEIU
+ Benefit eligible
***Twelve week orientation to be completed on day shift (0630-1500) or evening shift (1430-2300).
