The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.

Allina Health is proud to offer three Administrative Fellowships for Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration students completing their graduate course work during the 2019-2020 academic year. Allina's one-year administrative fellowship provides an excellent opportunity to gain vital healthcare leadership experience by managing engaging, complex, and relevant business projects under the mentorship of healthcare executives. The goal of the fellowship is to prepare the fellow for a future role within Allina.



Fellowship Descriptions:

Allina System Office Fellowship:



+ Attend/participate in Leadership Forum, Executive Leadership Team, Performance Leadership Team and Clinical Leadership Team meetings



+ Attend Allina Board meetings



+ Execute system/corporate project(s)



+ Gain valuable access to corporate executives



+ Access to operational experience in various ambulatory and inpatient areas



+ Freedom to seek out opportunities and execute a wide range of projects



+ Requires significant motivation and ability to perform at a high-capacity





Abbott Northwestern Hospital Fellowship:



+ Attend/participate in Leadership Forum, Senior Administrative and Clinical Leadership Team meetings



+ Access and exposure to administrative teams at Allina's metro and regional hospitals



+ Exposure to projects within and across clinical service lines in multiple hospitals



+ Work directly with physician champions and healthcare executives to develop, promote, and manage high-priority operational, financial, and strategic initiatives



+ Ability to self-direct and take initiative



+ Actively participate in high level decision-making - debate, discuss and help decide organizational initiatives and priorities



+ Attend and actively engage in leadership team meetings across the system





Allina Health Group Fellowship:



+ Attend/participate in Leadership Forum, Allina Health Group Executive and Operations Committee, Clinic Leadership Team, and Performance Leadership Team meetings



+ Execute projects in the health group division (clinics and clinical service lines)



+ Gain valuable access to corporate executives, as well as clinic and clinical service line leadership



+ Access to operational experience in various ambulatory areas and across the entire care continuum



+ Work directly with physician champions and healthcare executives to develop, promote, and manage high-priority operational, financial, and strategic initiatives



+ Ability to self-direct and take initiative



+ Actively participate in high level decision-making - debate, discuss and help decide organizational initiatives and priorities











Education

Master of Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration students completing their graduate course work during the 2019-2020 academic year.

Work Schedule

Recruiting Timeline:



+ 9/16/2019: Applications due



+ 9/26/2019 - 9/27/2019: Phone interviews



+ 10/07/2019: Onsite interviews at Allina Health system office in Minneapolis



+ 10/07/2019 - 10/08/2019: Offers extended



+ 10/9/2019: Candidate response confirmed





The interview process will consist of a review of candidates' written application packages, telephone interviews and on-site interviews for the finalists. The Allina executive team will select and make offers to the top three candidates. Selected candidates can anticipate the 2020-2021 fellowship starting in June or July of 2020.
