Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to work at their location in West Memphis, AR. This is a permanent position.

The Operations Manager is responsible leading and developing teams to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance for assigned operational areas within our clients West Memphis, AR facility. This position will drive the Customer Driven value in every aspect of their role.

As part of the plant senior leadership team, this individual will take ownership for the growth of a positive culture by building engaged, empowered teams. This “hands on” role will maintain a constant presence on our production floor ensuring that our teammates have clear, transparent direction and guidance on KPI goals and processes. The Operations Manager will understand the core elements of what makes successful teams to create an environment where teammates understand how their individual contributions contribute to success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure strategy and processes are in place to drive continuous improvement in service and quality levels to improve efficiency for assigned areas.
  • Resolve operational issues by analyzing the root causes or assisting in the process
  • Train, lead and develop teams and own their individual and team-level performance by delivering actionable feedback through performance reviews, coaching and professional development conversations.
  • Align teams on production goals and processes
  • Ensure teammates have the resources and training to perform optimally.
  • Improve overall production by analyzing data and identifying opportunities within WOC‘s processes and product.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to WOC quality standards.
  • Identify and surface ongoing trends and new opportunities to leadership.
  • Handle quality concerns and client escalations through cross functional efforts, providing actionable feedback to stakeholders.
  • Act as the escalation point for production support to diagnose, analyze and resolve issues.
  • Regularly report out on team performance to company leadership, focusing on insights and initiatives to improve performance.
  • Provide leadership for our safety culture, emphasizing individual accountability and safe work practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and 5 - 7 years’ progressive experience in packaging plants (petroleum or chemical industry preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with managing multiple direct and indirect reports.
  • Solid track record of implementing and executing operational methods that support plant and Corporate goals and strategies.
  • A strong ability to assess business objectives, diagnose problems and prioritize solutions.
  • Strong leadership and coaching experience.
