Job Description

Our client is actively seeking a talented Operations Analyst to work at their location in Norfolk, VA. This is a 1-year contract assignment.

Job Overview:

This role conducts studies of distribution systems to support distribution planning, distribution standards, distribution operations support and the Regional Operations Center. Performs studies of distribution system regarding service reliability using computer-based models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathers and analyzes various computer data to determine location and cause of power outages.
  • Efficiently dispatch first response personnel and repair crews to provide quick and logical response to outages and emergency situations.
  • Schedule and manage other non-emergency customer requested work in a timely and cost-effective manner to ensure superior customer service.
  • Provide accurate and timely information to customers.
  • Resolve customer complaints and prepare correspondences to accurately process customer requests.

Requirements:

 **This position requires an ability to work a rotating, around the clock shift rotation in a 24/7/365 environment. Candidate must be available to work all hours, weekends and holidays as required.

  • High School/ Associates preferred
  • 1 - 5 years related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of distribution and transmission systems.
  • Specific job application of personal and mainframe computer systems. Practical electricity and protective device coordination.

Skills: interpersonal; verbal and written communication; customer service (including food service), analytical; good computer skills and proficiency working in various software applications such as GIS, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes.

Abilities: problem resolution; address multiple tasks simultaneously; handle constantly changing and emerging priorities. Ability to make critical decisions with minimal information and oversight
