Who You Are

You are an experienced advertising/marketing communications copy/contact professional, with a track record of producing on-target messaging for clients. You are a self-motivated, resourceful individual with a flexible personality, able to multi-task (wear multiple hats) and deal with adjusting timelines, short-turn client requests and multiple deliverables. You are also a strong conceptual thinker and strategic collaborator, with an innate understanding of how words and images go together to effectively convey a message. You enjoy working with other creatives (writers, art directors, photographers, videographers) and have always paid attention to outstanding competitive (and non-competitive) marketing campaigns. You’ve also developed a habit of pro-actively researching background material over-and-above what a client has provided. Plus, you take real pride in crafting and presenting great creative (headlines, body copy, scripts, calls-to-action, etc.).

We’re an up-and-coming Plymouth, MI, marketing communications (ad) agency searching for a talented copy/contact account person with a passion for the English language. You’ll have an opportunity to work on some major brand accounts and develop all-encompassing creative strategies and spearhead a variety of campaigns, including management and execution of materials across all platforms.

This is a full-time position that involves all aspects of the profession, including (but not limited to):

  • Liaison with clients, including creative briefings
  • Drafting project and creative briefs as needed, as well as new business presentations
  • Crafting your own concepts and copy (words and images) for sharing with team members
  • Interpreting research and audience insights to develop creative strategies and campaigns
  • Formulating strategies & composing creative marketing campaign proposals (both print and digital/multi-media initiatives)
  • Work with internal team to develop program and project creative concepts, including program themes, headlines, body copy, video scripts, speeches, blogs, social media posts, etc.
  • Managing a variety of creative marketing projects and budgets, which could include trade and consumer print projects, shows/events, multi-media advertising, new (social) media content, PR, branded merchandise and more
  • Oversee and execute campaigns and programs from inception through delivery, ensuring that all elements adhere to brand guidelines
  • Supervise multiple internal and external resources and vendors who may be assisting in the development of assets and campaign activations

Desired Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 4-8+ years creative agency copy/contact account management experience with creative and vendor management collaboration
  • Demonstrates creative thought leadership through examples of campaigns in a diverse portfolio
  • Can effectively contribute to all aspects of campaigns from concept development through execution, including creative, traditional media, new (social) media, etc.
  • Comfortable participating in internal and external creative briefings, pitches, brainstorm sessions and status/production meetings
  • Possesses strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and has a positive collaborative personality
  • Has the ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Strong creative and account management planning, organizational and executing skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, flexibility in sorting out competing priorities, working swiftly under pressure and meeting project deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent command of the English language and proofreading skills – understands effective (and great) copy that successfully engages the target audience
  • Possesses personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment to company mission
  • Thrives in a nimble, fast-paced environment, while still striving for creativity, accuracy and cost-effective results
  • Has kept current with digital and marketing trends and can apply those tactics to projects
  • Experience working in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft Teams a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, English or related field
