GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assist and perform Administrative HR tasks and services to support the organization’s Human Resources Department. Performs work under Human Resources Manager to uphold best practice standards within compliance, policy administration, and employee relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation

● Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.

● Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records

● Assist Payroll Specialist with payroll functions

  • Semi-Monthly Payroll Processing
  • Fixing processing errors
  • Processing final paychecks

● Assist with Pre-Hire and Onboarding process

  • Conducting pre-employment screenings, process accordingly
  • Communicating with new hires regarding onboarding
  • Scheduling or conducting new employee orientations
  • Processing hiring-related paperwork which includes I-9 forms, offer letters, and other new hire paperwork
  • Coordinating hiring and onboarding with Talent Acquisition team

● Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed

● Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations

● Oversee Leave of Absence administration process in conjunction with PEO

● Work in conjunction with HR Manager regarding disciplinary process

● Provide clerical support to HR Department

● Help organize bi-annual employee performance process

● Attend internal department meetings and trainings

● Assist HR Manager in establishing Standard Operating Procedures for HR Department

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

● Attend external department meetings and trainings

● Occasional errands due to department need (ie; FedEx drop off, supply pick up)

● Act as a back up for Payroll Specialist when needed

● Respond to employment verifications

● Continuously improve through feedback

● Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience

● Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 1 year as an HR Generalist or 2 years as an HR Coordinator

● HS Diploma/GED accepted with 3+ years of HR Generalist or similar experience

● Experience with 50+ employee headcount

● Understanding of general Human Resources policies and procedures

● Experience in payroll administration or processing

Skills and Abilities

● Excellent computer skills

● Knowledge of G-Suite (G-mail, Google Calendar, Google Drive)

● Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Suite

● Knowledge of E-signature platforms

● Excellent oral and written communication skills

● Ability to work in a team environment

● Excellent communication and follow through

● Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

● Detail oriented and high level or organizational skills

● Ability to interpret and understand legal guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

● HR Certification (aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP)

● 2-3 Years of experience as an HR Generalist

● Experience with HR software (HRIS/HRMS)

● Experience in PEO environment, knowledge of PEO Processes

● Experience with ADP TotalSource PEO

● Experience with 100+ employee headcount

● Multi-state experience

Pay- $28-$33 per hour

This position must pass a post-offer pre-employment criminal background check.
