The District Manager position is responsible for leading a team of 5 to 10 Eye Care Account Consultants (Sales Representatives) that are focused on expanding the adoption of a new product that will disrupt the current disease treatment paradigm. The District Manager leads the field sales execution of new product adoption within targeted eye care accounts through effective prospecting, onboarding and expansion of use of designated eye care products to achieve sales objectives. The field sales team delivers technical product and procedure training; consultative selling and comprehensive account management to support customer understanding, adoption and broaden utilization.
This position is responsible for hiring, developing, leading and motivating a highly technical buy and bill specialty field sales team. The District Manager proactively ensures all aspects of employee related issues are managed appropriately; including ensuring policy, procedures and reporting systems are understood and implemented in a manner that delivers compliant execution across the team.
The District Manager is responsible for understanding and
utilizing resources to increase adoption of the Allergan portfolio, and ensure
consistent execution across their team to meet and exceed units and sales goals.
The District Manager is responsible for ensuring their team develops and
maintains effective working relationships with other Allergan sales personnel
and support teams. These teams include, but are not limited to, Allergan
sales teams, Customer Service (Austin), RBAs, MSLs, Key Account Managers, and
Supervises 5-10 Eye Care Account Consultants (sales representatives)
**40% Sales Performance / Financial Results**
Consistently attains or exceeds assigned sales goals for designated products in terms of units and sales dollars consistent with the approved operating plan. Additionally, the successful management of the appropriate expense budgets, including CORE budget and associated promotional budgets required to meet all fiscal responsibilities.
Establishes challenging goals and sets high standards in a compliant manner to ensure Account Consultants meet their respective quotas. Sets priorities and drives effective allocation and utilization of Allergan resources to maximize sales.
Coaches and leads so that all Account Consultants meet or exceed their individual territory quotas.
**25% Aligning Performance Execution**
Maintains adherence to all Allergan policies (e.g. Code of Conduct, Healthcare Law Compliance, Expense Policies, etc.)
Effectively aligns and communicates sales strategy across the district, region and the nation. Leads the execution of sales strategies designed to expand product adoption with targeted eye care accounts through effective prospecting, onboarding and expansion of use. Drives consistent field execution across the district by setting and communicating clear expectations, measuring performance and adjusting as necessary. Identifies trends, opportunities and issues and implements action plans to improve results. Identifies and proactively shares best practices across the region and nation.
Sets execution priorities to ensure consistent delivery of technical product and procedure training; consultative selling and comprehensive account management to support customer understanding, adoption and broaden product usage.
Understands market dynamics, reimbursement trends and key business drivers; and demonstrates organizational perspective necessary to build effective partnership with all key functions.
**20% Talent and Team Development**
Hires, develops and retains organizational talent through recruiting, skill development, succession planning, individual development plans (IDPs) and performance management. Fosters a positive organizational culture and establishes a team identity with a focus on high performance expectations and accountability.
Proactively identifies talent and implements appropriate development plans to maintain a high- quality talent pool for performance in current roles and in anticipating succession planning needs. Ensures consistent, ongoing sales skill coaching, account management and career development for direct reports.
**15% Customer Focus / Account Development**
Proactively identifies, initiates and pursues opportunities to create both internal and external relationships to favorably position Allergan and the Eye Care business. Acts as the key point of contact to strengthen customer relationships and/or address customer issues.
Identifies and develops relationships with key KOLs, VIPs and influencers within the eye care community. Actively communicates and appropriately collaborates across senior leadership, marketing, sales, and other key partners to best position and advance Allergan business objectives.
Maintains a deep understanding of the healthcare system, the Medicare Part B / medical benefit environment, associated reimbursement dynamics and the daily workings of a physician practice to support broad procedure adoption.
+ Bachelor's degree required
+ At least 2 years of successful industry related salesmanagement experience
+ Experience in a "buy and bill" Medicare Part B /Medical benefit environment preferred
+ Valid Driver's License and ability to drive
