In general, this position requires the ongoing support of ASIM’s Human Resources Department, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. In support of the goals listed below employee will also be required to complete the specific goals and initiatives communicated through the company’s performance management system. Goals/initiatives are reviewed, edited, and prioritized regularly in a joint effort between the employee and employer. With the title of HR Manager, the employee’s responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to, the list below. As company goals evolve and resources change, the defined areas of responsibility may be changed or replaced. Essential duties and responsibilities included below; other duties may be assigned: * Must be a self-motivated, resourceful and detail orientated individual with proven ability to interface effectively with all levels within the organization. Establish and support an environment that supports employee development and career progression. Ability to handle confidential information and deal with sensitive issues in a discrete and ethical manner. Working with Executive Management, evaluate, assess and identify the correct combination of employee benefits (401k, health/dental, HRA/FSA, etc.), compensation and guidelines to support company compliance, employee development and competitiveness. Oversee payroll/time track system to facilitate timely payroll submissions Work directly with Accounting team to monitor and communicate all payroll related changes, including rates, benefits, deductions, 401k changes. Timely approve HR related invoices. Corporate liaison with 401k Third Party Administrator and Investment Advisor. Responsible for administration, terminations, hardship withdrawals, RMDs and participant notices. Append and publish the employee guide on an annual basis to insure the company’s offerings remain competitive and comply with regulatory changes. Document, maintain, and practice procedures that meet external regulatory guidelines for hiring new employees. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment resources, interview questions, reference questions, orientation process, new hire check list, exit interviews, and termination check list. Working with Executive Management and Department Managers establishing best practices for recruiting new employees and assist with screening, interviews, support reference checks and background screenings as requested. Secure a working knowledge of, document, maintain, and practice adopted and standardized procedures that meet external regulatory guidelines for HIPPA, EEOC, ERISA, ADA, ADAAA, FMLA, MAPFML, and COBRA. Incorporate any and all applicable legal changes to ensure compliance by employer and its employees and to define and confront risks to employees and business. Administer and maintain secure record keeping of all employee records and forms that are represented in personnel records, sharing with appropriate management (and individuals) as needed. Working with Systems and Accounting personnel, maintain the company’s time and attendance system. Manage and oversee the company’s wellness program to ensure optimal engagement and program success. Work with Safety Team to implement routine safety audits and ensure OSHA compliance, Material Safety Data Sheets, forklift/motorized pallet jack certification, HazCom plan, Emergency Action Plan, Evacuation Plan, and First Responders. Coordinate and implement on-site training resources to educate employees, providing various methods and offerings. Maintain working knowledge of available outside training resources and inform management as necessary. Work with Executive Management and outside suppliers to secure, assess and recommend enhancements to employer benefits portfolio – Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401k and supplemental offerings. Monitor, maintain and update Department of Unemployment website as needed to insure accuracy. Maintain and monitor the employee rewards program “Starbucks”, to award for job anniversaries, “Excellence in Service” awards and the like. Insure procedures are followed and expectations are met as related to discipline, PIPs, verbal and written warnings, etc. Update Workers Compensation information, filing reports if incidents occur. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise for one part-time HR assistant. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor degree 8 years’ experience in Human Resources and/or Organization Management. PHR/SPHR or other Human Resources certification preferred Operations and Accounting experience a plus Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short and long correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple and complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016 including strong knowledge of MS Excel 2016 software. Individual should be an active user and advocate for software solution that improve business performance. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: No license or certifications are required for this position. PHR/SPHR or other Human Resources certification preferred Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude. Superior professionalism and judgment. Excellent business acumen and broad experience/understanding of all facets of Human Resources Strong analytical thinking, problem solving skills and communications skills (written and oral) with attention to detail. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical Other Qualifications: Flexibility to attend evening and/or weekend meetings and/or events; Must be willing to attend training sessions when asked.
