Soft Collections Specialist!! Central Phoenix!!

Location: Our office is located near Metro Center in Phoenix, AZ.

This individual will collect money from the insurance companies. We are not looking for a hard core collector, would like someone with B2B collections as this is soft collections. Minimum 6 months collections and 2 years call center customer service.

Short Term Housing is a leader in our industry providing temporary housing solutions to individuals who
are displaced from their home due to loss. Working with insurance companies and the policyholders, we
provide a variety of solutions to make this difficult time easier. We are currently seeking a candidate for the
position of Collections Specialist.

The Collections Specialist will serve as a liaison to clients, provide superior customer service, and be the voice
of our company. This position is tasked with the responsibility of providing Accounts Receivable information to
customers in an effort to minimize past due balances.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Research and pursuit of all past due receivables that are 1 day past due or older.
• Research and share information regarding any customer balance inquiry.
• Research and pursuit of any policyholder receivables as needed.
• Past due account reporting.
• Research and documentation of problematic past due accounts to determine balance due or cause of
• Input and maintain accurate records and customer details.
• Return all voicemails within 2 hours or less. Reply to all emails the same day they come into inbox
(unless out of office.)
• Ensure customer satisfaction by prompt and proper resolution of questions, issues and problems via
email and telephone communication.

• Solid communication skills to effectively deal with various levels of customers.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information.
• Exhibit effective listening skills, understanding of instructions, and effectively communicate with
customers and co-workers.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Ability to consistently meet established standards for quality and productivity.
• Six months of collections experience.
• Two years’ customer service experience.
• Stable work history with excellent attendance.
• Strong work ethic.
• Sense of urgency and deadline oriented.
• Intermediate computer experience – MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including telephone skills.
• Proven superior customer service skills.
• Experience with Billing/Accounting/Invoicing preferred.
• Some College Preferred.
