All About Books, one of the country’s leading children’s book distributors to literacy programs, is seeking a creative and self-starting individual to join the Sales and Marketing Team for the entry level position of Sales Account Manager in Canandaigua, NY.

Position Summary

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Sales and Marketing in the execution of sales projects, managing customer accounts, and marketing strategies.

Examples of Tasks and Duties

  • Manage key accounts
    • Prepare and consult on custom orders which fit the customers’ needs and objectives, ensuring timely and successful delivery of said solutions
    • Build long-term relationship with customers
  • Receive and enter orders (from phone, email, fax, or website)
  • Maintain database quality, including:
    • Capturing and importing new customer information, and maintaining current customer information
    • Maintain inventory records within the company database, including scanning cover art of new titles, writing descriptions, and assigning themes and age ranges
  • Possibility for travel as needed

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Required:

  • Associates or trade school degree
  • Proficiency with computers and applicable business software including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability with business enterprise software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a team environment; to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, both in terms of workplace and when managing one’s tasks and work schedule, and detail oriented
  • Must have the ability to think critically, manage, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to change with the ability to think creatively in solving problems with a continuous focus on customer service
  • Punctual; shows up on time; stays late when needed
  • Displays initiative; self-starter; does not need to be micromanaged or constantly told what to do; tries things first before asking for help

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with MAC OS and PC, and Outlook or Apple Mail
  • Experience with NetSuite
