Provides assistance to teacher in programming for assigned students.
Assists teacher in developing Individualized Education Plans for student, preparing progress reports, and communicating with parent and other professionals.
Implements behavior data collection system in the classroom, and reports to the Behavior Department as required.
Assists teacher in evaluating the student’s current level of academic and behavioral functioning.
Assists in implementing the academic goals and objectives on the student’s IEPs, including some daily organizational planning.
Under guidance of the teacher, develops units of instruction in areas that may include work adjustment, recreation/leisure time, practical life skills, and enrichment field trips. For assigned student.
Accompanies and actively supervises assigned student in activities outside of the regular classroom including art, physical education, music and work skills modules (when appropriate).
Transports and supervises student at community sites when needed.
Implements individual management programs.
If student assigned is absent they will perform duties as assigned by the teacher.
Attends team meetings as directed.Performs other such duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED. Associates Preferred. Experience in special needs school environment preferred.
