Job Description

UNDERSTANDING

With a strong understanding of quality systems, this leader owns the development and execution of a holistic quality program in support of ACG operations. They lead a team of quality professionals that drive key processes to include training, product quality review, compliance analysis, qualification protocols, CAPA management, nonconformance review & approval and supplier quality management.

This leader thrives in leading change in a high growth, rapidly evolving company, and can successfully develop a team to do the same. They guide their teams using the core principles of ACG.  They require creativity from themselves and their team.  They drive a “nothing is impossible” attitude and view issues as direct challenges to better themselves and their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, implement and maintain quality assurance objectives that correspond to company policies and goals.
  • Develop, train and evaluate Quality Assurance team members.
  • Train staff on procedures for compliance for cGMP, SQF, BRC, HACCP and food and quality safety
  • Maintain all Food Safety and Quality certifications
  • Assist with third-party and customer audits
  • Provide guidance in interpreting governmental regulations and internal policies to assure compliance and serve as liaison between the company and the various governmental agencies such as the FDA and Department of Health during site inspections
  • Maintain compliance with product specifications, labeling, and regulatory standards
  • Support and assist in corrective action and continuous improvement programs
  • Manage, plan, and coordinate quality programs designed to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards
  • Review and update SOPs, policies, and processes regularly to ensure all quality standards comply with cGMP standards
  • Support master manufacturing record creation, batch record review, and product release
  • Participate in material review and evaluate recommendations for product disposition
  • Support change control process to ensure key cGMP documents such as product specifications and analytical methods are appropriately controlled
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Other duties as assigned

WORKING RELATIONSHIP 

  • Reports to the Quality Operations Manager.
  • Works alongside Quality Control and Sanitation Managers to ensure policies and procedures are maintained.
  • Partners directly with all departments to ensure compliance to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills and shares expertise with others.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality capacity and showing career progression to quality management
  • Experience in dietary supplement manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience in state and government audits required
  • Understanding of 21 CFR Part 117 and 21 CFR Part 111 regulations
  • Experience in participating in 2nd and 3rd party audits required
  • Experience in generating and maintaining SOP’s and forms
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – team player
  • Hard worker who is a self-starter and proactive
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • HACCP, SQF, and/or PCQI certification a plus.
  • Great verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree or commensurate experience
