JOB TITLE: OBGYN
Position Summary: Fairbanks is the second largest cities in Alaska. It is home to around 100,000 residents which makes it the second largest city. Fairbanks contains an Army base, Air Force Base, University, and is known for its dog mushing and northern lights. Temperatures in the 80 for summer are common and in the winter usually in the negatives. They have more than 22 hours of daylight during the solstice in June. The Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is a non-profit organization in Fairbanks region that covers an area of 235,000 square miles in interior Alaska, which is equal to about 37 percent of the entire state, and just slightly smaller than the state of Texas. Within our region are six sub regions: Lower Yukon, Upper Kuskokwim, Upper Tanana, Yukon Flats, Yukon Koyukuk, and Yukon Tanana; within our six sub regions are 39 villages.
Qualifications: Board certified in OBGYN (MD or DO) Experience with tribal, IHS or cross-cultural and rural medicine desired. Candidate must be willing to fly to remote clinic locations quarterly. (2 to 5 days average per quarter)

The Health Center:The most innovative aspect of the clinic's design is its approach to caring for patients and families through an integrated-care model that emphasizes wellness over intervention and focuses on family-centered lifestyle changes. In this Patient-Centered Medical Home model, a highly-collaborative team of providers works together in an open space. Such teams made up of doctors, nurses, medical assistants and specialists care for entire families. The team learns about a family's medical and non-medical issues, which ensures comprehensive prenatal to end-of-life care and support on the patient's journey to optimal wellness. Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Psychiatry, Orthopedic PA, Radiology, Behavioral Health, Dentistry, Optometry, Lab, and Pharmacy are all services at the health center.
