Ke'aki Technologies, LLC. is looking for a qualified ORDNANCE TECHNICIAN C (MISSILE LAUNCHER) to support our contract with Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) in Kekaha, HI.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform O&M (operational and organizational-level maintenance) tasks associated with missile/target launchers, to include the repair of launchers and associated equipment. Provides assistance to the Lead Ordnance Technician and subject matter experts in maintaining the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) launchers and missile target systems. Perform O&M (operational & maintenance) tasks associated with ordnance and ordnance-handling systems and equipment.
Major Job Activities:
+ Handles and assembles missiles, drones, launchers and other ordnance-handling equipment.
+ Performs booster and vehicle section mating, stabilizer, canards and fin alignments.
+ Performs preventive, corrective, and corrosion maintenance of launch systems.
+ Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the mechanical portions of all launch systems.
+ Handles, stores and treats hazardous wastes/materials.
+ Performs post operation maintenance of torpedoes, targets, training vehicles and other exercise weapons in accordance with current methods and procedures.
+ Handles and transports ordnance and hazardous waste/materials.
+ Handles ammunition and explosives within and between magazines and other ordnance storage areas.
+ Perform other duties as required.
+ Ordnance and hazardous material/waste handling facilities - includes launch pads, magazines, missile assembly buildings (MAB), aboard the TWR/MPC vessels, Red Label area, weapons post run facility, AQM assembly building, Hazardous Waste Treatment Facility. May also be in the vicinity of electrical wirings, high and low voltage circuits.
+ Periodically works in close proximity to toxic fumes and by products, and high explosives.
+ Transport ordnance items and other hazardous materials. Also includes operating tractor/trailers and forklifts.
+ Must satisfactorily pass and annual physical for handling hazardous and toxic fuels and materials.
Physical Activities: Must be able to lift, carry, install and remove electronics equipment and peripherals. Must be able to climb elevated towers and work in sub-floor areas and crawl spaces in performing maintenance inspections and troubleshooting tasks.
+ Must be able to lift, push & pull 25lbs - 50lbs.
+ Walking or standing, crawling, kneeling or cramped, work requiring repeated stooping, sitting, work requiring repeated or frequent stair climbing.
+ Environmental customer contact, extended work day, confined work area, office laboratory, field assignment and inclement weather.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Experience in performing maintenance on motor vehicles, launchers, or related equipment or mechanical systems required.
+ Two years of satisfactory progressive experience and training in the handling and assembly of ordnance items, such as missiles, drones, launchers, torpedoes, small arms ammunition and other related ordnance handling equipment preferred.
+ Possess a valid State of Hawaii Driver's License
+ Must be able to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL).
+ Must be able to obtain a locally issued explosive Driver's License and Explosive Ordnance Handling Qualification certification.
+ Must be able to obtain the Ammo-18, Basics of Naval Explosives Hazard Control online course certification.
+ Must be able to obtain the Ammo-62, Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials in-resident course certification.
+ Must be able to obtain licenses for the operation of ordnance-handling equipment, including cranes, K-loaders, forklifts, man-lifts, tractor-trailers and other related equipment.
+ Must be able to obtain the 40-hour hazardous waste operations (HAZWOPER) certification.
+ Experience and training derived from prior military training, DoD contractor, or other work experience in related field preferred.
+ Must possess the following PC skills: MS Word and Outlook.
+ High school graduate or equivalent
+ Two (2) years college degree preferred
CITIZENSHIP/SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment, and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.
