The CFO will be responsible for the supervision and management of all financial activities of Alabama Public Television (APT) and WLRH-FM (Huntsville, AL). This position reports to the Executive Director and directly supervises the accounting and human resources staff. The position will supervise all financial transactions for the Alabama Educational Television Commission (AETC), the Alabama Educational Television Foundation Authority (AETFA) and the APT Foundation including accountability for the expenditure of all grant funds, viewer contributions, corporate donations, and state and federal funds. This position will also serve as staff liaison with the AETFA Board and the APT Foundation Board in recommending/implementing financial policies on expending and investing foundation funds. The CFO will also coordinate the budget process for the organization.


Seven years' experience in financial management or accounting practice required. CPA, CMA, or CIA certification preferred. Supervisory experience and experience with public television and/or government accounting preferred. Must demonstrate expertise in leadership, planning, goal setting, experience working with grants (state, federal and foundation), contract review/development, oral and written communication skills, and human relations skills.
