Akridge is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the proper functioning and physical operations for one of our downtown commercial properties. He or she will bring specialized knowledge and guidance to all staff to maintain efficient mechanical operations, ensure prompt responses to Client requests, maintain superior building cleanliness, and implement preventive maintenance programs. He or she is responsible for training and supervising competent, service-oriented personnel. The Chief Engineer monitors the performance and documentation of preventive and corrective maintenance, is responsible for assisting in the review of construction drawings and specifications for projectsas needed, and makes reports to the Property Manager, Operations Manager, and Clients.
The Chief Engineer must be a leader with the integrity to set a superior example of both technical skills and interpersonal relationships. He or she is expected to be technically competent and a knowledgeable resource in the fields of building automation, building maintenance, electrical and plumbing, ducting, air balancing, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. Communication skills, the ability to organize, and a willingness to follow through are essential skills. The ability to communicate effectively with all team members in high pressure situations is necessary.
It is mandatory to possess a high school diploma, a D.C. Stationary Steam Operators License Class Three, and at least five years of supervisory experience. District of Columbia First Class HVAC license desired. LEED AP or LEED Green Associate designation is preferred.
