Our team is seeking an operations specialist to play a key role in developing this platform as a low-cost solution to a few novel problems. Responsibilities: Install, troubleshoot, and maintain new equipment for customer use. Train new operators and cover for operators during high demand situations. Feed information related to operations and failure modes back to the factory engineering teams.
Top Daily Responsibilities:
Work primarily outdoors to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at the customer site.
Document methods and failure modes for training manuals and continuous engineering improvement.
Train new operators to perform standard operator procedures and to troubleshoot new issues.
Travel between field sites and between the home office in Mountain View and local suppliers (Sunnyvale), including by car.
75% travel to various locations including substantial international travel, for instance Europe and Asia.
Required Skills/Qualifications: Work with Basic Hand and Power Tools Computer skills required: Email, Documents / spreadsheets, Data entry
Ability to lift about 50 pounds (Loading and unloading truck daily, installing hardware)
Ability to travel internationally
Ability to work outdoors, in austere environments for 8+ hrs per day. Includes work in the ocean environment.
Clean driving record (No DUIs, or more than 2 traffic violations during the previous 3 years)
Ability to provide clear and concise written and verbal feedback to Engineering and Operations Teams
Work away from home for extended periods 2+ years experience working in outdoor operations
High School with at least 2+ years of hands on experience
BSc in STEM Degree
Hands on experience with shop tools and prototyping (Mill, Lathe, Band Saw, Laser Cutters, etc)
Experience writing Standard Operating Procedures and Preventative/Reactive Maintenance Manuals
Experience working with ambiguity and in an R&D environment
Experience creating electromechanical assemblies
Experience working in Linux
