Payroll Processor

• Daily data entry of employee time and attendance edits

• Process time off entries which includes auditing entries in database for accuracy, exporting file and loading into payroll system

• Audit the Time and Attendance system on a daily basis, for accuracy of hourly paid employees punches, sites, departments, and premiums

• Respond to employee inquiries relating to eligibility for Earned Time Off, benefits, resolution of missing time clock punches and to solve specific paycheck issues

• Validate new hire entry and benefit processing changes

• Responsible for the verification of social security numbers for all new hires, utilizing federal government agencies and/or website

• Work within the Payroll Team to process each biweekly payroll cycle, accurately and in a timely manner

• Responsible for producing pay using the in-house payroll system on a biweekly basis for given companies

• Preparing and uploading spreadsheets

• Running gross to net process and verifying accuracy of pay using report audits

• Closing and disbursing pay, leading to remittance of ACH files to bank vendors

• Responds to unemployment claim forms and inquires

• Provides requested information, verifies information presented

• As part of the payroll team, test new releases and patches of the payroll software focusing on the Time and Attendance module

• Interfaces with the Human Resources Department to assure consistent application of Dean policies

• Responsible for all correspondence, rate change notifications, participant maintenance, and the reconciliation of the monthly billing statements related to the assigned COBRA / Retiree participants

• Process/record participant payments for COBRA / Retiree premiums

• Prepare quarterly multi-worksite report, gathering needed information for report and verifying accuracy prior to submission

Experience & Education

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 1 to 3 years payroll processing experience

· Previous experience in working with an automated time and attendance system

· Workday experience a plus

· American Payroll Association Fundamental Payroll Certification
