Job Description
Ajilon is working with a cutting edge startup company in Baltimore City with roots in real estate investments but are now embarking on exciting new ventures. They are looking for an HR Manager to join their team as they plan to significantly grow the size of their companies over the next one to two years. Qualified candidates will have several years of experience with building HR departments from the ground up including the development of HR policies and procedures, sourcing new vendors, recruitment and working with benefit brokers. As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for performing various HR-related duties and to work closely with all departments. HR credentials are an ideal qualification, and experience with technology companies or startups is preferred.   • Conducts recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel
  • Creates and posts job ads and descriptions
  • Manages the full life cycle of recruitment from sourcing candidates to distributing offer letters and facilitating pre-employment screenings
  • Manage new-hire orientations using electronic onboarding system
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all teammates; assists in the development and implementation of teammate policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the teammate handbook and the policies and procedures manual
  • Manage Worker’s Compensation and OSHA reporting
  • Maintains human resource information system (HRIS) records and compiles reports from the database
  • Assist managers with the annual performance evaluation program
  • Provides support with employee relations counseling and exit interviewing
  • Build out and maintain a learning and development training program
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed

    Qualifications and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years of HR experience required
  • PHR/SHRM certification preferred
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to present to large groups effectively

    Hours: Direct Hire, Full Time, Monday - Friday

    Compensation: $80,000 to $90,000 Annually
