Job Profile
The Facility
Specialist is responsible for developing the safe and efficient maintenance
plans of both the plant building facilities and infrastructure (maintenance
& operation of the building electricity, HVAC, water, sewage, water
quality improvement devices, and fire suppressing & extinguishing
equipment) at the AW Texas automatic transmission manufacturing facility. In
addition, the Specialist will develop plans to achieve the following Facility
objectives: (1) Stable supply of energy, (2) Introduction of energy-saving
equipment, (3) Introduction of low-cost plant infrastructure systems, and (4)
Examination of ways to prevent environmental waste. The Facility Specialist
will report to the Facility Assistant Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Facility Specialist will not have direct supervision
responsibilities.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
· Development of
preventive and routine equipment maintenance plans
· Development of
catastrophic failure repair plans and countermeasures
· Responsible for
arranging emergency repairs on Facility equipment
· Budget planning
and performance management for the Facility team
· Develop
continuous improvement plans to generate energy cost-savings for site
· Support the
improvement of safety, quality, productivity and indirect material cost
· Establish and
maintain productive and effective working relationships with AWTX team
members, outside contractors and Japanese Facility team members
Required Qualification / Education
· Bachelor’s
degree in a science or engineering discipline required
· Minimum one
year of experience required in mechanical design of structures, equipment, or
utility systems
· Experience with
supporting the requirements of a Facility department is a plus
· Experience with
a new facility launch is a plus
· Experience
managing projects in a manufacturing environment is a plus
· Experience in
an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus
· Experience in a
cross-cultural working environment is a plus

· Ability to travel on business in US or Japan
