Work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday


Performs all high-pressure cylinder repairs, hydrostatic test cylinders and repair cryogenic containers.


Responsible for personal safety and health.

Ensures a safe and healthy work environment.

Be receptive to SAFETY and other ongoing training.

Attend all scheduled safety meetings.

Follow all safety rules and regulations.

Report all unsafe actions and conditions to supervisor immediately.

Move cylinders with proper carts only.

Insure all paperwork is signed, dated, completed in full, and legible.

Knowledgeable of hazards associated with high pressure and cryogenic gas.

Mathematical skills to work with percentages and decimals.

Be punctual and comply with hourly work schedules.

Interface with other department employees.

Order repair parts needs through plant manager.

Perform other duties as required.

Repair all high-pressure cylinders.

Verify cylinder has no pressure before performing any work.

Perform needed repairs using proper tools and personal protective equipment.

Retest high-pressure cylinders according to DOT and CGA.

Learn, understand, and follow applicable sections in CFR 49.

Know and understand CGA designation for appropriate valve to gas.

Follow all required CGA pamphlets.

Follow all required exemptions when testing exempt cylinders.

Inspect, document, test and mark low pressure cylinders per DOT and CGA.

Stamp cylinders appropriately after re-qualifying.

Returns all repaired and retest cylinders to the appropriate empty area for refill.

Assist in all cylinder inventories.

Learn to perform all repairs on all equipment in the cylinder maintenance area.

Inventory all Valves and Repair parts to insure an adequate supply.

Assists in fill plant as needed.

Ability to perform heavy work - routinely lifts 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift
76 to greater than 100 lbs.

Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; frequent
bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and feeling also required.

Ability to perform work during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling,
pushing, pulling and finger activities.

Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Must be able to safely drive a forklift.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the Company.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
