Direct responsibilities may include a focus on continuous improvement, customer feedback, employee training and training effectiveness, vendor qualification, in-process quality assurance systems and control, and monitoring mfg activities such as receiving inspections, tool & equipment calibration, in-process quality inspections, work station maintenance, QC/QA implementation, and final buy-off of finished components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and implement an overall quality system to support our AS9100 certification. This includes continuous evaluation of the Airex Quality Control manual to meet AS 9100 Standards and regular communication of QC/QA goals and policies to all employees.
Key role in the familiarization and implementation of the Airex QC/QA manual including goals and policies to all fellow employees.
Maintain and upgrade as required equipment calibration and shelf life material procedures and intervals; chemical handling processes; Engineering Change Orders; MRB & non-conforming material; performance metrics; sampling plans and statistical process control; and safety factors.
Develop/foster operator qualification and training for equipment and processes, and quality evaluations of manufacturing tasks as to speed, scrap rates and contribution to end product.
Assist in developing technical specifications, manufacturing processes, purchasing specifications, process documentation, drawings, BOM’s and “standards” for scheduling in mfg activities, prototyping and new projects as required.
Evaluate and update manufacturing processes, procedures and documentation to match customer, training and internal quality requirements. Mfg Team Leads & Mfg Engineers coordinate with or perform QC Inspector Role as required to facilitate quality systems goals within functional areas.
Learn, implement & develop visual, mechanical & electrical inspection techniques, failure analysis, life tests and process & test documentation such as logs, lot travelers and production records consistent with QC/QA requirements.
Track Work-In-Process scrap rates, rework and failure analysis. Evaluate & utilize time records, logs, lot travelers and production records consistent with manufacturing and QC/QA requirements. Assure accurate measuring, lot sampling, inspection techniques and failure analysis to meet the requirements of the QC/QA program.
Develop and implement mechanical layout of new or existing work stations, assembly areas, test stations to include block diagrams, flow charts, schedules, self-inspection procedures & estimated time allocation.
Develop, propose, maintain and promote safety and accident prevention during all work activities, and actively participate in accident prevention efforts. Promote & maintain a professional, high quality work environment including neat & clean work areas, appropriate dress code, organized storage areas, product presentations, building appearance and product mfg documentation consistent with customer and internal goals.
Assist other employees in areas of need as required to promote new business and meet production schedules. Additional functions may include safety systems, employee & customer communication, record/document storage, & 5S/6S. Assume additional responsibilities as required.
