- Responsible for the management and administration of all
training programs for the squadron to include on-the- job
training (OJT) program and formal schools.
- Assists in the management of the squadron?s Professional
Military Education (PME), career development course (CDC), and
ancillary training programs.
- Conducts informal work center visits and feedback sessions with
supervisors to determine the effectiveness of training programs
- Functions as squadron-level liaison for the Wing Aircrew
- Performs miscellaneous administrative duties in support of the

**In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience
requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM)
Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and
**Specialized Experience:** One year of specialized experience for
GS-1702-07 level, examples of such experience include knowledge of
an extensive body of rules, concepts, techniques, procedures, and
operations of training programs to perform a wide variety of
assignments involved in training functions. Knowledge of the
standardized processes and procedures for evaluating a training
program to plan the steps to take to complete assignments, identify
problems from collected data, and select solutions from alternatives
in guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical
of work performed at the GS-06 grade/level position or equivalent in
the federal service.
**FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS)
POSITIONS:** Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable
time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at
the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements
for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position
or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):** Your qualifications will
be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills,
abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the organization's mission and training methods,
policies, procedures, instructions, and other directives.
2. Knowledge of training goals and objectives to assist in the
management and implementation of training goals.
3. Knowledge of methods and procedures for conducting unit training
4. Skill in applying basic analytical methods and techniques to
resolve conflicts and determine adequacy of the training program
5. Knowledge of Air Force Specialty Code skill-level qualifications,
and update, enhancement, and proficiency training requirements.
6. Ability to use automated data systems and software applications
to enter, maintain, sort, and retrieve organizational and/or program
7. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing,
using tact and courtesy.
**PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE:** Credit will be given for
appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify
the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total
number of hours per week.
**VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE:** Refers to paid and unpaid experience,
including volunteer work done through National Service Programs
(i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g.,
professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community;
student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical
competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable
training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

**IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY:** You **MUST** provide transcripts
to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by
an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of
**FOREIGN EDUCATION:** Education completed in foreign colleges or
universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show
proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least
equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It
is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
