PROCESS IMPROVEMENT TECHNICIAN

Summary: Hands-on role within operations to engage and support the team to develop and implement sustainable process improvements in support of attaining ACS’s goals for safety, quality and delivery to achieve excellence every time for our customers. Assist in documentation of processes to help resolve operational issues as they arise.

Essential Functions:

• Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards for all employees.
• Conduct time studies and develop process documentation for new business processes and/or use study results to recommend improvements.

• Partner with operations management, to identify opportunities, utilize continuous improvement tools to obtain measurable and sustainable results.

• Actively participate in Plant Daily Management by creating visual documentation for (SQDP)

• Experienced in utilizing data to illustrate improvement opportunities in safety, quality and throughput.
• Develop training document for 5S activities.
• Track all the process modifications/changes needed to update the process documents as well as the training documents.
• Support key business segment’s cost effectiveness projects and actions, product cost reduction initiatives and ensure achievement of business benefits determined in each project
• Develop and maintain a layout of the shop floor with the details of all the process flow and parts presentation to the stations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering required
• 5+ years relevant professional experience
• 1-2 years Lean Manufacturing experience
• LSS Yellow or Green Belt certification
• Knowledge of MS Office, Visio & AutoCAD
• Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while working on equipment.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs requires a team lift effort.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. The work location may be 60°F to above 100°F ambient in areas of production.
