Employee will be required to wear protective clothing and gear on these occasions. * Disclosure of Political Appointments * Incentives will not be used. ### Qualifications THE HOURLY RATE FOR THIS POSITION IS: $27.77 TO $32.51 PER HOUR. **QUALIFICATIONS:**Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X- 118C for the WG- 2800 Electrical installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. **JOB ELEMENTS:**Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Working knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s). 2. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and equipment common to trades and labor work performed by the group being led. 4. Skill in performing the trade and/ or labor work of the group being led. 5. Ability to lead a team of three or more labor or trade employees. 6. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission. **Physical Effort**: Makes repairs from work stands and other hand-to-reach places. Must stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, stretch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lifts items that weigh over 40 pounds with assistance from other workers. **Working Conditions**: Work both inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather and in areas that are noisy, dirty, dusty, and greasy. May work on scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet, or in close quarters such as manholes or attics. Subject to electric shock, cuts, and bruises. May be exposed to temperature extremes in test facilities, extremely high noise levels, and exposure to lead, radiation, chemicals, or carcinogens. **PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE:**Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
