Training Coordinator

Ø Coordinates the safety and health obligations for the retail store. Maintains up to date safety information to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Leads the efforts of the Corporate Safety Training Program, conducts all training sessions and new hire orientations.

Typical Duties

Ø Safety

§ Monitors the daily safety and health obligations of the retail store facility and enforces all safety polices and procedures.

§ Notifies HR Department and Store Management of any violalations with regards to safety rules and regulations.

§ Maintains all Company safety training records.

§ Corrects all safety issues reported from internal and external audits.

§ Oversees the Forklift Safety Training Program at the retail store level.

§ Works with the HR Department on pending workers compensation claims arising from safety/health issues as well as general liability claims at the retail store level.

§ Investigates all accidents, incidents, and near misses involving employees and/or store customers.

§ Whenever possible, may be called upon to accompany an injured worker to an approved medical facility in cases of serious injury.

§ Ensures that any injured worker receives medical care if necessary and returns to work as quickly as possible, after obtaining the proper medical release.

§ Performs first aid on employees or customers when needed.

§ Coordinates and monitors light duty and restricted work duty assignments and communicates same to the HR Department.

§ Maintains an inventory and distributing the necessary personal protective equipment to all employees.

§ Conducts all onsite safety inspections, audits and completes daily checklists.

§ Strives to reduce lost time and prevent recordable accidents by implementing a pro-active approach to safety through various training initiatives coordinated through the HR Department.

Ø Training

§ Conducts all new hire orientations.

§ Reviews the ASC Safety Training Program with all new hires.

§ Conducts all annual training programs.

§ Outlines training material and determines effective instructional methods to be used i.e. individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, meetings and workshops.

§ Administers tests and reports regularly to management on the individual progress of each employee during their training period.

§ Ensures all new hires participate in the online Customer Service Training courses.

§ Certifies and re-certifies all employees who are required to operate a forklift.

Ø Wellness

§ Serves as the point of contact for all wellness initiatives at the store level.

§ Provides administrative support via disbribution and collection of all wellness material.

Job Requirements

Ø Must possess knowledge of safety and health standards applicable to projects and facilities

Ø Experience in conducting safety/health audits of projects and facilities

Ø Experience in administering safety and health training programs

Ø Excellent skills in verbal and written communication, possessing strong follow-up skills

Ø An intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Ø An ability to navigate the Internet

Ø Must have strong initiative, be self-directed and possess a proven ability to create and implement a safety program that works

Ø While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Ø While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical; toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Educational Requirements and Experience

Ø Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Relationships

Ø Reports to the Human Resource Manager and individual Store Manager

Ø Works directly with other clerical personnel, field personnel, and management personnel to accomplish job duties
