Description: We are seeking experienced mid-level database administrators to be part of a talented team that designs and builds mission-critical applications for Government enterprise systems. The mid-level database administrator will design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. The successful candidate also will develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.

Mid-level Database Engineer Job Duties:

• Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability

• Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software

• Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data backup, and recovery specifications

• Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters, implementing new releases, completing maintenance requirements, and evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products

• Prefer xp with Oracle, PostgreSQL, database performance tuning

  Experience Requirements : 5 or more years of experience in the field.

  Education Requirements : Bachelors or masters degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, business and management, or related field

  Desired Skills / Qualifications : Database performance tuning; software development life cycle process; excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills

  Security Clearance Level: None required upon applying, but must be willing to undergo

background check to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
