Family Medicine Residency Program Director

POSITION SUMMARY: Lead of the Family Medicine Residency Planning Project of Affinia Healthcare transition to lead of Program as it recruits, and implementation begins.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducation:
- Graduate of an accredited school of medicine or college of osteopathic medicine.
- Licensed as a Physician in the State of Missouri.
- Graduate of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
- Board certified in Family Medicine by either ABFM or AOBFP
Experience:
- At least three years education or administrative leadership experience
- Experience in an urban health setting preferred.
Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:
- Requires the ability to take lead and complete grant, residency, and health care deliverables in a timely and high-quality fashion.
- Requires strong verbal, written, electronic and presentation communication skills.
- Leadership ability to coordinate and communicate with Affinia Healthcare, partner leadership, clinicians, accrediting organization, and participating residents.
- Ability, skills, and knowledge to appropriately treat patients within scope.
Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
- Medical License in State of MO, DEA, BNDD
- Family Medicine Board Certification (ABFM or AOBFP)
- CPR/BLS
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions:
- Lead, guide, strategize and complete the HRSA Grant objectives to establish a Family Medicine Residency Program at Affinia. Planning grant objections from 2023-2025.
- Lead, guide, strategize and complete the ACGME requirements to establish a Family Medicine Residency Program at Affinia. Accreditation in time to recruit residents in the 2025-2026 academic year with the goal of the training to begin in the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Develop and approve policies, procedures and guidelines that ensure grant and ACGME deliverables.
- Develop, manage, arrange, lead, communicate with needed external partners for contracts, grant and accreditation needs. Including but no limited to ATSU for academic, curriculum, and research partnership; Christian Hospital for inpatient training, and others.
- Support the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for Affinia (CMO plans to assume this role) as the sponsoring institution to the ACGME.
- Attending ACGME and other relevant trainings to complete the project objectives.
- Assist in recruiting team members for full implementation of the training program.
- Assist in recruiting residents for full implementation of the training program. Once recruited then development, supervision, well-being, and sustainability of residents.
- Assist in recruiting faculty for full implementation of the training program. Once recruited then development, supervision, well-being and sustainability of faculty.
- Apply for grant and other funding to ensure program sustainability.
- Family Medicine Clinical Care (exact percentage to be determined by workload and ACGME requirements based on final size of residency. Likely 50% prior to residency implementation
- Other duties as assigned.
- Meet regularly with CMO and core partners to continue meeting deliverables.
