Job Description:With some guidance from Senior Engineers, the Electrical Engineer will design and test electrical systems and subsystems involving both analog and digital electronics. Design work will cover both new product development as well as sustaining engineering tasks for our existing product line.
Working with cross functional teams, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for documenting hardware design specifications and providing detailed design solution with minimal assistance from senior engineers. Tasks may include prototype construction, printed circuit board design, cable and cable harness specification, power distribution analysis, and assisting manufacturing and/or service to solve complex problems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications: Design
o Analog design
o Digital design
o Cable and harnessing design
o Power distribution assemblies
o Working knowledge of Altium and / or CadStar and / or Orcad (Design tools) a plus
o Working knowledge of design simulators (Spice)

 Documentation
o Ability to create effective top-level design documents, test cases, and test plans.
o Ability to create and manage documentation in accordance with Hologic design control procedures is a must.
o Required to learn "Agile", a Hologic product development life cycle management tool.
o Experience working in a regulated industry is a plus.
o Disciplined procedural work ethic

 Test
o Must be able to test and debug complex electronic designs to a component level
o Must be able and willing to perform hands-on fabrication, testing, and repair work that is required to support assigned activities as needed when support from technicians may not be readily available
o Must have experience and be proficient at using laboratory test equipment used in electrical engineering work. This includes but is not limited to; Multi-meters, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, Function generators and logic analyzers
o Ability to write embedded code to test designs is a plus

 Communications
o Ability to work with other electrical engineers (Both senior and junior) and technicians.
o Ability to work with software engineers for development of firmware.
o Ability to work with verification engineers to support the testing and verification of designs.
o Ability to work with mechanical and software engineers to assure design compatibility.
o Ability to communicate with Project Managers and direct supervisors on current status as it related to meeting commitments.
o Ability to communicate with manufacturing personnel.
o Ability to communicate with filed service engineers.
