ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate with outside customers to understand and meet their expectations consistently
- Coordinate with internal groups to communicate, execute and meet project goals
- Work with Project Engineers and Management to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones
- Data analysis and report writing
- Develop and institute internal best practices and design guidelines
- Utilize Design For Manufacturability and Design For Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles to ensure cost effective and producible designs
- Accurately identify and apply materials and processes that achieve design requirements
- Apply 14 CFR Part 23/25 FAA regulations to designs and documentation
- Generate, review and approve certification documentation as required
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the development, maintenance and application of company processes and procedures
- Train and mentor junior engineers
- Lead the conception, layout and detail design of aircraft components and systems in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Accept and complete other job-related duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to 14 CFR Part 23/25 certification efforts
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio and Access)
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Team player who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Fortran, C++, MATLAB, Database Programming
- CFD, NASTRAN, LabVIEW, FEMAP
- Proficient with drafting processes using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to develop efficient and accurate detail design, assembly and installation drawings
- Data Acquisition Systems
- GD&T
- 14 CFR Part 23/25 FAA DER potential
- Private pilot
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
- Proficient with FAA regulations applicable to 14 CFR Part 23/25 certification efforts
COMPENSATION:
- Salary and title commensurate with industry experience
