Aerospace Engineer (Associate Engineer/Engineer/Senior Engineer)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate with outside customers to understand and meet their expectations consistently
• Coordinate with internal groups to communicate, execute and meet project goals
• Work with Project Engineers and Management to ensure on-time delivery of project milestones
• Data analysis and report writing
• Develop and institute internal best practices and design guidelines
• Utilize Design For Manufacturability and Design For Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles to ensure cost effective and producible designs
• Accurately identify and apply materials and processes that achieve design requirements
• Apply 14 CFR Part 23/25 FAA regulations to designs and documentation
• Generate, review and approve certification documentation as required

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the development, maintenance and application of company processes and procedures
• Train and mentor junior engineers
• Lead the conception, layout and detail design of aircraft components and systems in CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Accept and complete other job-related duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
• Knowledge of FAA regulations applicable to 14 CFR Part 23/25 certification efforts
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, Visio and Access)
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Team player who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Fortran, C++, MATLAB, Database Programming
• CFD, NASTRAN, LabVIEW, FEMAP
• Proficient with drafting processes using AutoCAD or SolidWorks to develop efficient and accurate detail design, assembly and installation drawings
• Data Acquisition Systems
• GD&T
• 14 CFR Part 23/25 FAA DER potential
• Private pilot
• Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
• Proficient with FAA regulations applicable to 14 CFR Part 23/25 certification efforts

COMPENSATION:

• Salary and title commensurate with industry experience
