Job Description

A prominent Aerospace Manufacturing company in the metro Detroit area is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. Benefits include: Direct Hire, Full Benefits Day 1 of Employment, Competitive Pay, 401k, PTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and more!

Quality Engineer – Assist with planning, and coordinating of the quality system in accordance with AS9100 to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards: Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine present standards and proposed quality of finished product. Investigates reviews and makes recommendations to Management to ensure timely resolution of customer complaints, supplier failures, and internal corrective and preventive actions. Assist with the conduct of and disposition of Quality Audits. Interface with Manufacturing to support the resolution of Quality issues. Shall assist in developing continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc. and support the development of training to build quality awareness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, develops and implements Quality Control processes and programs.

· Helps establish quality improvement goals and objectives that support company financial plans and customer requirements.

· Develops quality plans and documentation requirements, including the use of statistically valid sampling methods, to evaluate product at every stage of the manufacturing process.

· Provides training to manufacturing personnel in the use of statistical techniques.

· In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, develops inspection and testing methods, and interprets customer product evaluation requirements.

· Develops quality training material and conducts training as required.

· Evaluates and measures compliance to company, industry and customer quality requirements.

· Conducts internal and external quality audits.

· Assists in identifying and implementing cost effective, innovative technical solutions in the quality control field.

· Confers with management, customers and suppliers in planning, scheduling, coordinating and directing quality activities to ensure conformance to customer requirements and specifications.

· Supporting company policies, procedures, goals, objectives and goods manufacturing practices.

· Applies Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to the production process.

· Performs root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis in the disposition of non-conforming material.

· Support Manufacture engineer in Non-conform material disposition when is required. AS9100 knowledge and understanding.

· Participate in continues improvements events when is required.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in a quality field, aerospace preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Familiarity of statistical techniques.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Project – Minitab a plus.
  • Must possess solid analytical skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
