We are working with a client to find a Technical Buyer to join the team at manufacturing company in the Aurora, IL area. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
This individua will have 3 individuals directly reporting to you from the purchasing team. Your main responsibilities will be purchasing products like steel, castings, machined and/or fabricated components. As well as negotiating with suppliers, placing purchase orders and referencing manufacturing drawings and blueprints to help determine project and customer requirements.
Hiring Manager Notes:
- BS in related field (or experience)
- 5+ years experience doing purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of machine shop practices
- Understand how to read manufacturing drawings; blueprints, schematics, etc.
- Negotiation skills
- MRP/ERP software, good computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, etc.
- Experience with annual spend levels in the range of $5-$10 million
