Adventure Medics is beginning the process of new hires for Wildland positions in 2020. Positions include ambulance, camp, and fireline medical positions on fires in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, and Colorado. Potential candidates should be familiar with wildland fire behavior and be comfortable operating independently. Candidates do not need to live in Bend, OR but should live in Washington or Oregon.
Potential season is from June 15th-September 30th. Candidates MUST be able to deploy within 4-8 hours and potentially be gone between 14 and 21 days. Work is not guaranteed as its completely dependent on wildland fire behavior.
All gear including uniforms, tools, medical equipment, and vehicle (as appropriate) supplied by Adventure Medics. All employees are covered by a licensed medical director and covered under insurance.
We will be conducting the new hire process in 3 Phases:
Submit an application and resume with a cover letter indicating your interest for our Wildland Team. Please also make sure to indicate in your resume or cover letter, where you are located.
We will send emails to accepted applications and invite you for a formal interview, this can either be conducted in person at our HQ in Bend, OR; or online via Skype. Wildland Fire Team interviews shall be conducted in February/March of 2020.
Attend our 2-day orientation to be scheduled in March/April 2020 for Wildland positions. Keep in mind that part of the 2-day Orientation will include a PT Test and is part of your interview assessment. If you cannot pass your PT test and Skills test you will not pass through to the second day of orientation. Successful completion of Orientation will result in an offer letter for the 2020 wildland season.
Wildland Team - Minimum Requirements:
· Active State and National EMT, AEMT or Paramedic Certifications
· 1 year experience as a wildland fire medic or 3 years in a different role on the fireline.
· Driver’s License
· Ability to complete L-180, S-260 and S-290 prior to June 1st, 2019
· IS-100.b, 200.b, 700.a, and 800.b
EMTs & AEMTs:
· Active BLS Certification
· Active BLS, ACLS, PALS
(PHTLS preferred but not required)
· Minimum of 2-years Wildland Fire experience with current Red Card
· Minimum of 5-years EMS experience (911 pre-hospital preferred)
· Remote medicine experience
· Clinical medicine experience
