Asset Engineer - 6 Month Contract

This position is a 6 month contract to hire/extend role. It is located in Midkiff, TX and is with a very reputable pipeline oil and gas company. ProMax/VMG experience is required in addition to 5-10 years gas processing experience. Please apply and ATTACH an updated resume if you would like to be considered.

Description:

Position Notes:
-6 month contract with potential to extend or hire on FTE
-Degree required; education must be verified on background check
-Must be familiar with modeling facilities, using Promax, VMG
-Seeking candidates with 5-10 years' experience; gas processing plants
-Must be able to pass a driving background check; company vehicle will be provided to travel between different plants
-Interview process: phone screen or face-to-face

Primary: Provide technical/operational guidance to Operational/Safety/Environmental groups with operational troubleshooting/optimization work on existing plants.

Secondary: Assist the Commercial/Marketing groups with asset optimization leading to additional volumes with acceptable margin.

Position Overview
The asset engineer will need to provide technical expertise and support that may or may not lead to a physical item being constructed. The Asset Engineer will need to provide project evaluation, problem resolution, and provide technical support to ensure third party understanding of the operation.

Key activities include but are not limited to providing technical support to the operations team to ensure the plant is being operated within proper set points (Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level), identify transient conditions that affect total on-line performance and help make operation changes to mitigate those conditions.

Project involvement can vary from project oversight to leading preliminary design/cost estimating efforts; although the intent is to limit the Asset Engineer’s project involvement on large projects to be a knowledge resource.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Asset Engineers review current operating parameters and determine plant bottlenecks which are restricting gas throughput. Additionally, AE’s need to be familiar with plant equipment such as pumps, liquid handling equipment such as liquid/gas separators, amine treaters, glycol dehydration systems, molecular sieve equipment, cryogenic process, compression, pumps, etc.

As a resource to Operations, the Asset Engineer helps make sure all Safety, Regulatory, Industry and Codes, Standards and Requirements are incorporated/documented, serves as an information resource to other groups and provides Commercial advice on how new gas production will affect current plant conditions.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Asset Manager and Supervisors with Safe and Environmentally Compliant Operations that are economically optimized. Insure all phases of any work comply with industry requirements
• Safe Policies and Procedures
• Engineering Standards/Required Practices
• Project Management Process
• PSM\API\ASME codes
Develop Preliminary Scopes and Design solutions about:
• Constructability
• Operability
• Startup
• Cost/Schedule
Liaison to Commercial and Marketing group on system limitations, bottlenecks for new gas prospects regarding individual asset
• Flow Capacity
• Compression Capacity
• Processing Capacity – Volume, CO2, GPM, Disposition limitations
• Support the asset with PSM, MOC, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews and Training issues on new construction.
• Liaison to Project Engineers on final design and approve implementation plan.

EXPECTATIONS

An Asset Engineer is expected to:
• Be familiar with Operational issues, reliability/performance and compliance issues.
• Maintain communication on the changing priorities
• Be knowledgeable in the normal operating conditions and current operating conditions of the facilities’
o Flowrates, Temperatures, Pressures
o System Limitations
o Permit limitations
• Be the Technical resource to the Operations, Safety and Environmental
• Advise Commercial and Project Engineers so they understand the details/limitation of

Education Requirements: An engineering degree as a minimum, BSME, BSChE, BSEE or equivalent
