Mechanical Packaging Engineer
Hourly Rate: 50- 62 AN Hour
Direct Salary: 100k- 130k
Assignment 1 year +
First month is onsite then can be hybrid after that with at least 1 day onsite
One position will focus more on Creo and Design and Thermal Analyses
The individual will be responsible for the design of lightweight electrical assemblies in space restricted enclosures for use in avionics applications where the assemblies are exposed to the atmosphere and operate in high EMI environments. The individual will be responsible for performing analysis on designs, to include structural and thermal testing. The successful candidate will work with the electrical engineering designers to define the mechanical design requirements and will develop the packaging design concepts and layouts for detailed drawing development. The individual will be responsible for task management of multiple budgets and personnel to complete tasks within schedule and costs. The candidate will also work with manufacturing to ensure designs adhere to company manufacturing standards and capabilities. The candidate must have experience producing drawings in accordance with military standards (MIL-STD-100 and MIL-STD-3100) and ANSI Y14.5M specifications and be familiar with Mil-Spec hardware. Occasional travel to North Carolina facility may be required. The candidate must possess a strong base of practical skills to enable following all aspects of the design from concept through fabrication and test. The position will require the candidate to conduct Design Reviews to show packaging design meets customer requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 8 years demonstrated mechanical packaging design experience working with electrical and electronic assemblies, preferably for the aviation industry.
• Experience with creating production level engineering documentation for a manufacturing environment
• Experience with integration and testing support in manufacturing environment for 1st article builds
