ABOUT THE ROLE

We need a skilled writer and storyteller who can enhance our constantly evolving startup environment through brand awareness and stakeholder engagement. Our Communications Manager will manage key internal and external communications across channels and audiences, creating relevant and accurate written content and compelling stories that bring Advano's work and impact to life. Our ideal candidate is a savvy communicator with experience in social media content management, business presentations, and fundraising in a startup organization.

Some examples of day-to-day tasks you would be responsible for include:

  • Create and manage external communications to partners, participants, and other key audiences via emails and electronic flyers as well as print media
  • Partner with members of the leadership team to develop and execute multi-stakeholder communications plans, business presentations, fundraising campaigns, and events
  • Develop written content/copy for a variety of fundraising campaigns, events, audiences, and channels
  • Apply data and analytic insights to inform evolving communications strategy and tactics
  • Manage social media content calendar and engagement strategy

These attributes are a must:

  • Graphic Design experience
  • Must be a confident communicator and presenter
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including the ability to present concepts verbally
  • Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of Advanced Manufacturing Technology will establish and execute on our roadmap to scale and commercialize Advano's Silicon material at a speed that meets the market demand of Silicon and allows Advano to become a global Silicon leader in the market. This key leader has a do-whatever-it-takes attitude, thrives in a start-up environment, and can deliver project deliverables on time. 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Advano's management team in creating a long-term commercialization roadmap and future vision to ensure manufacturing readiness
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and commission production equipment and facilities that will enable steep product ramps to ambitious volumes
  • Test and qualify Advano materials with a potential customer
  • Define and own aggressive OKRs for safety, quality, performance, delivery, and cost for all Advano technologies
  • Work with R&D during material development to ensure product manufacturability & scalability
  • Drive new technologies from lab to commercialization
  • Develop safe handling and operational practices at pilot scale and beyond
  • Work alongside business development to establish and deliver company production schedule
  • Contribute to building an A+ quality team that will allow us to move forward to commercialization
  • Establish and manage strong relationships with all key equipment suppliers, key supply-chain partners, and 3rd party collaborators

 REQUIRED

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar field
  • 10+ Years of industry experience in leading manufacturing and operations
  • Demonstrated experience with taking a product from concept to commercialization
  • Ability to analyze and operate complex systems for customization, test, and qualification 
  • Ability to interpret process drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other systems integration technical data 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Experience in bulk material, slurry, and powders handling 
  • Knowledge of nanomaterials and wet coating processes 
  • Professional Engineering certification
  • ISO 9000, 9001 certifications

We need a strong leader and passionate about building technical relationships to achieve our goals. Our Director of B.D. has relationships with leaders in the energy storage & automotive industries and the ability to engage at all levels and respectfully challenge the status quo.

Our ideal candidate is a determined and enthusiastic dealmaker, someone who can deliver a product that meets the expectations of Consumer Electronics and Automotive customers while still being able to adapt to the demands and changes of a startup.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop key partnerships that align with Advano's long-term vision
  • Develop and manage customer relationships and sales processes for specified accounts
  • Strategize, structure, and negotiate contracts with partners along with different segments of the value-chain
  • Maintain sufficient contact with Advano's technical team and Advano's legal team in constructing contracts with significant technological development and intellectual property requirements, respectively
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of macroeconomic trends in areas relevant to Advano's sector, such as LiBs, electric vehicles, and international trade as well as industry players at all stages
  • Maintain outreach activities by identifying tradeshows and opportunities to interact with major strategics in the LiB ecosystem

These attributes are a must:

  • Program management in the areas of LiBs, advanced manufacturing, or energy storage
  • Experience with customer interface, preferably with automotive and consumer electronics market
  • Ability to develop and manage technical partnerships
  • Ability to travel globally
