The Manager of Revenue Verification Services directs, leads, and supports the development and managing the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of the Revenue Verification Services Department. This will include creating, updating, and implementing department workflow guidelines, carrier’s policies and procedures in prior authorization or medical necessity requirements. The Manager of Revenue Verification Services will oversee the authorization and account verification process to ensure the quality of interactions with our patients and referring community while maintaining department workflow guidelines are met for proper reimbursement.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Create, update, and implement workflow guidelines along with carrier’s policy and procedures in obtaining prior authorization and/or medical necessity requirements.
  2. Work with department Supervisor for continual review and implementation.
  3. Work with Supervisor of Revenue Verification to maintain daily work volume and ensure staff is adhering to the department workflows and guidelines
  4. Collaborate with Senior Revenue Cycle Manager, Supervisor and staff to identify, review and implement quality improvement projects and standards.
  5. A working understanding of staff’s daily processes to provide a better understanding for workflow and guideline implementation and monitoring
  6. Authorization/Account Verification
  7. Assist with accurate and timely communication with needed staff on issues pertaining to requested and/or scheduled examination.
  8. Communicates regularly with insurance companies, health care providers, internal scheduling department, Site Managers, front desk coordinators and clinical staff at sites; on exams that require clinical review and/or denials from insurance carriers that may interfere with the patients scheduled appointment
  9. Communicating with Site Managers when time sensitive escalations occur.
  10. Communicates changes with staff effectively through verbal discussion, emails, memos and follow up as needed to ensure compliance.
  11. Quickly disseminates new information, reviews, and ensures all staff understands.
  12. Monitor staff’s key performance indicators to identify trends and areas of needed improvement.
  13. Monitor denials received by issue and staff, track and follow up with additional training to cut back on adjustments and maximize reimbursement.
  14. Weekly one on one with Senior Revenue Cycle Manager to review department volumes, progress, and hurdles
  15. Daily communication with Revenue Verification Supervisor to ensure proper staffing of all needed areas.
  16. Responsible for maintaining positive relationships with VIP and other referrals.
  17. Addressing issues on a timely basis
  18. Continual check-in with Marketing Team for positive or negative feedback (applicable referring and department follow up as needed)
  19. Ensure highest level of referring physician satisfaction
  20. Collaborates with Senior Revenue Cycle Manager and staff to identify, review and implement quality improvement projects and standards
  21. Ensures staff is properly developed and trained
  22. Perform annual employee reviews with collaboration of Revenue Verification Supervisor
  23. Ensures the maximum efficiency and use of company resources by reducing cost
  24. Collaborates with clinical staff, and leadership to review current operational workflows and recommend/implement changes and improvements
  25. Promotes the importance of ongoing quality improvements and quality assurance efforts
  26. Serve as a positive example and lead that effectively implements change

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Firm understanding of Healthcare Revenue Cycle processes
  • Ability to analyze and see trends in various types of data and recommend follow up steps
  • Must have intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office software
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Experience developing and implementing training programs.
  • Ability to scope projects with a forward-thinking mentality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Four-Year College degree preferred
  • Healthcare experience and understanding of insurance processes with authorization, eligibility, medical policies as they pertain to the examinations/procedures being performed
