Maintenance Technician - Greenhouse / Marana, AZ

Marana, AZ

  • $18 - $21/ hour
  • Contract position - about 12 months (with possible extension)
  • Extended hours may be required during peak season
  • Must pass fit test and medical evaluations to wear respiratory protection
  • All positions require background check and drug screen

Seeking an exceptional candidate to join our new greenhouse operation near Marana, AZ. We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician with experience in an industrial or manufacturer setting. Candidate will perform preventive maintenance inspections, procedures, and tasks self-directed and independently with minimal supervision. He or she will process work requests and other data through the Computerized Maintenance Management System. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with shop hand tools, electrical and mechanical measurement devices, drills, taps, pumps and motors. The position requires the ability to operate a power sweeper, forklift, scissor lift, and boom lifts. The ability to use various electrical and mechanical measurements devices including micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, dial gauges, voltmeter, etc. is required. Experience with HVAC systems and controls, arc welding, soldering, and brazing is a plus, but not required.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Operates, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains all equipment in compliance with all manufacturer and department policies and procedures.
• Comply with all applicable safety, federal, state and local regulations.
• Record mechanical equipment readings and ensure accuracy of records kept.
• Utilize the CMMS system to keep accurate computerized records of activities, time, and materials required.
• Notifies appropriate leadership in the event of equipment malfunction, chiller/boiler casualty, or any other unforeseen event that negatively impact greenhouse operations.
• Understand and follow all Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and can execute LOTO of utility systems and equipment
• Assist in troubleshooting, including basic electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting of equipment that is not performing to standards and makes the necessary repairs to get optimum performance from the equipment.
• Ability to work with a flexible schedule that could include: nights, weekends, holidays, and on call duties.
• Performs shift turn over as required and other duties as assigned.

Education & Certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 4 – 6 Years of experience required.

Physical Qualifications
• Must be able to lift up to ≤50 lbs. and push/pull up to ≤300 lbs. with assistance.
• Climbing required up to ≤30 feet and/or ≤3 stories.
• Must be able to work from ladders.
• Must be able to identify color-coded labels.
Must be able to wear protective clothing as required, including passing fit tests and medical evaluations required to be qualified to wear respiratory protection.
• Must meet Occupational Demands/ Physical Requirement checklist.
• Extensive standing, squatting, kneeling and walking.
