POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Store Manager for Credit is the champion and accountable leader in-store for Curacao’s managing consumer credit products and accounts. As such, the position must coach both credit lounge and sales floor staff to ensure that customers can apply hassle-free for a credit account at Curacao and that any issues, questions or complaints they may have are resolved in an efficient, friendly and easy-to-understand manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Management Functions
• Recruit, train, and develop a strong talented bench of associates to have future leaders of the company for different departments.
• Ensure Credit Lounge and Cashier associates understand and execute their credit application, account management and payment functions in an efficient, hassle free and friendly manner that enhances the customer’s experience.
• Provide regular feedback informally and through existing company tools and manage underperformance through improvement plans that accurately reflect associate opportunities.
• Coach associates to perform at the highest level by ensuring they complete ongoing process training, stay up to date on the latest company initiatives and promotions and take ownership of their own development.
• Ensure that associates are meeting Curacao’s expectations for integrity and embodying its values.
• Organize staff schedules to coordinate associate strengths and productivity to meet business goals.
• Meet operational and sales performance goals for the department and ensure that associates in the department understand not only their goals, but also the behaviors needed to achieve them.
• Maintain awareness of Federal and State laws governing credit transactions and employment practices and ensure that the store staff and its processes are in compliance.
• Review and analyze applications performance and recommend and implement changes or training as appropriate.
• Help to prevent losses due to fraudulent transactions by providing feedback and reviewing fraud cases with their associates, corporate credit, and their local GM/ASM Ops.
• Create a work environment that places the customer trust as the priority and maintain a highly engaged and motivated team that makes customers consistently feel welcomed and cared for.
• Take ownership of the look and feel of the Credit Lounge, keeping the area clean, ensuring the furniture and installations are in good working order. Ensure that any issues with technology, installations or furniture are reported and resolved promptly.
• Take ownership of any customer issues in person or via phone in collaboration with both the corporate and store teams.
• Greet customers with a warm smile and friendly greeting whenever they walk within ten feet of you.
• Maintain department’s cleanliness and overall appearance take pride in it.
• Demonstrate a Customer Centric attitude by always greeting and serving customers in an engaging and friendly manner and going above and beyond to understand each customer and solve for each one’s unique need.
• Always strive to Be Your Best by continually working to improve your knowledge of the latest trends in your department and taking pride in your work.
• Be Accountable for your actions by ensuring that you finish to completion any task you take on with integrity and transparency.

Basic Credit Functions

Store Credit Managers are also expected to pitch in and perform the duties of a Credit Desk Representative as needed. These duties include:
• Greet and guide customers through the credit application process in the credit lounge, troubleshooting as necessary, whether customers use conduct an application through the credit kiosk, the credit tablet or using the paper application.
• Work with customers to identify and take action on problems with their accounts, keeping the customer informed and engaged throughout the process.
• Educate customers on how credit works, how the different types of credit accounts at Curacao function and which types of behaviors and choices can help to hurt or harm their own credit score. Help the customer to determine which of the Curacao accounts best fits their habits and needs.
• Maintain a strong understanding of Curacao credit products and services (accounts, insurance, paperless enrollment, etc.) and be prepared to explain their features and benefits to customers.
• Pitch in with any other store operations, which may be required and requested by the General Store Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor Degree (BA) or equivalent a minimum of 2 years experience in this specific area
• 2 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Friendly, outgoing personality
• Resourceful
• Diligent about completing tasks
• Comfortable with basic arithmetic
• English Fluency
• Spanish Proficiency
