Job Description

Adfero is seeking a full-time Senior Graphic Designer / Art Director to be a hands-on senior role among a growing and talented creative team. This person will work on advertising, public education and issue advocacy projects that take the form of digital, print, mobile & video for our clients. He or she will love design, communicate exceptionally, think strategically, and act as a proactive, detail-oriented team player.

About the Job
The job itself: You will be working closely with a team of designers to collaborate and execute creative concepts and materials to support communication strategies. The creative suite is second nature to you and your strong design eye not only helps you execute stand out work, but also helps to mentor and inspire peers. You are eager to learn and grow your conceptual thinking skills and client interaction, and you strive to see the “big picture” in all creative campaigns. You have the desire to lead, but also know that collaboration is the best way to produce the best work.

Potential client work will vary between trade associations, nonprofits, corporations, the federal government, as well as Adfero branded initiatives. All of this will be done in a collaborative environment working with creative, account, and interactive teams.

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of design experience, agency experience a plus
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Motion design and video experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects on tight deadlines and adjust when directions shift
  • Ability to design for digital (including mobile) and traditional media
  • Interest in and knowledge of DC public affairs and issue advocacy
  • Strong conceptual and design skills, with an ability to take work from concept through to final execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present and talk through creative offerings to internal and external audiences professionally
  • Strong organizational, planning and time-management abilities to be able to produce multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines with attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to both collaborate and work independently on projects
  • The ability to serve as lead designer on accounts
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • The ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while independently managing projects
  • Initiative, with a commitment to continuous learning and improving
