Responsibilities for this HR Generalist job include, but are not limited to: • Manage health, welfare and group benefits plans, programs and policies to ensure accurate and effective administration, including the implementation of new provisions and plans for the Upstream Energy spin-off • Ensures plans, policies and programs comply with all regulatory entity mandates and new provision are implemented • Actively participate in the implementation of and transition to a new benefits third-party administrator, including continuous improvement of processes and procedures - both internal and third-party vendor - to drive efficiencies, eliminate manual processes and improve the employees experience. Process documentation to support knowledge transfer and succession planning • Partner with Benefits leaders to manage vendor relationships and provide benefits expertise and consultative services to internal and external partners • Responsible for assuring efficient and streamlined processes, without compromising accuracy of all internally executed benefits processes • Conduct research to determine source of benefits related associate issues and facilitate resolution process with internal and external partners • As assigned, participate in the development of effective employee/retiree communication materials, including summary plan descriptions, intra- and internet content to educate participants on benefits plans, policies and programs • Provide support for internal and external audits and SOX control processes • Responsible for working with other key internal Human Resources functions such as Payroll and HRIS to ensure accurate associate data and processing • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Qualifications for this HR Generalist job: • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or equivalent • Five (5) to eight (8) years Benefit Health & Welfare experience • Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years benefits management experience • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills • Experience with project management and HR systems • Excellent written and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization • Excellent knowledge of a wide range of benefits principles • Solid knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, IRC Section 125 and Health Care Reform
Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Business, Human Resources or Industrial Relations • Five (5) to eight (8) or more years of management experience in group health & welfare benefits or benefits consulting • Certifications/Licenses: Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), PHR (Profession in Human Resources), SPHR (Senior Profession in Human Resources)
