Job Summary
As the Director of Enterprise Application development, you will be responsible for a team that monitors, analyzes, designs, and develops software applications. You will oversee the maintenance, support, and upgrading of existing systems and applications, and you will collaborate broadly on defining key application performance indicators and SLA's, and measure and communicate progress across the IT organization and to key stakeholders.
In addition, you will manage development projects to ensure that they meet the Enterprise’s business requirements, mission and goals, as well as working with other departments to help establish their software needs. This will also entail overseeing the testing of new software programs and applications, assist with quality assurance, and identify and resolve program issues and errors.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide direction for application architecture, design, development, testing and implementation, and turnover documentation for assigned business, and align with industry best practices and driving adherence to standards, procedures, sprint and / or project milestones
- Develop and manage budget and resources to maximize output and minimize costs working with a matrixed team including full-time employees, consultants, and vendors
- Estimate resource requirements for projects to be used in business cases and budgets and forecasts
- Create reports on the monthly productivity of teams, and actively monitor and improve productivity as needed
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and business partners to ensure appropriate expectation setting and timely delivery on promises made as an IT organization
- Develop and maintain the IT Architecture to provide the organization the best technology at the lowest cost in a secure manner
- Develop full-stack and reference architecture designs for infrastructure across hybrid environments inclusive of cloud platforms
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or Information Technology, Master’s degree a plus
- 10-15 years of management experience in an IT leadership role
- Strong project organizational skills, including strategy, prioritization and planning
- Experience managing a staff of 5 or more technical professionals, and budgets of over $ 1 million
- Experience implementing Web 2.0 technologies and concepts
- Experience with Content Management Systems and Microsoft SharePoint/SharePoint Online
- Experience in application development and delivering med-large scale projects and programs
- Must have worked within a multi-disciplined, cross-functional technical organization with matrixed reporting relationships
- Must have demonstrated understanding of performance management, business consulting, project management and applicable technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
